Painstakingly designed, tested and hand tied, the ‘Carpsidious’ fly has been specifically engineered for The American Carp Society and US fly Carp fishermen by master fly tier Daryl Angler of Nervous Water Flies. Working together with Daryl and through numerous variations and The American Carp Society members and tried, tested and approved:

“Once deciding on which aquatic species I would focus my energy for The American Carp Society, it was game on.  There are hundreds of leech varieties, so there is a reason that there are a boatload of leech patterns in the fly fishing genre, A: the variety of leeches allows for a variety of flies, and B: every fish underwater eats leeches.  Approaching the design of this particular leech pattern was the same as any other design; match the chassis with the intent of the design. I wanted the tail to be svelte and sleek when falling, and breathing and moving when sitting on the bottom.  I also went back and forth for quite some time over the weight of this fly.  It will be fished in various waters in various conditions and I really like to stress versatility in my designs. So, going light was the most versatile way given you can either add some weight (tungsten putty is great for this) or go with a two fly rig with a heavier fly on the point and Carpsidious on the dropper. This fly spans the versatility spectrum from casting on spooky carp through two fly rigs.  The finished design comes in at 0.34 grams, which is (yes you are correct) very light!  This reflects my approach as a fly designer to a “T”; designed with intent and logic, resulting in versatility. “ DARYL ANGLER
