Hello!
My name is Sean Reed and I am from Woonsocket in Rhode Island.
It’s a small city in the smallest state that’s absolutely filled with ponds along with a few fast moving rivers. These ponds and rivers hold lots of very beautiful Carp and fishing for them is one of my all time favorite passions!
The biggest thing I had to learn when fishing for Carp was patience!! In my opinion patience on top of good preparation is the key to success!!
After I got that together, things started to fall into place for me. I quickly learned what baits and flavors worked best at different locations and at different times of the year.
With all that knowledge I gained from all the time spent blanking and thinking about how to not blank, I noticed my catch rate rising quickly!!
I was so happy because I was finally getting pretty consistent results!!
At this point my son, Landon was 6 years old and liked to fish but didn’t enjoy all the time spent in silence while going for carp, so he didn’t go with me as much as I really wanted him to. After the runs started to come a lot more often, I decided to bring him out with me to a spot I knew was going to produce. After he heard my fancy new alarms scream off, he only wanted to go carp fishing and he has been coming with me as much as possible ever since!!
He is now quite the little angler with ideas of his own and catches all the time, even more than me on some sessions…and he loves rubbing it in whenever he can lol!!!
So when I’m not fishing, I can usually be found grinding away at my home away from home, also called a tattoo shop!
It’s a lovely place full of awesome people and beautiful art created by me and my wonderful co workers. I have been a tattoo artist for roughly 16 years and I have loved every single second of it. I feel that art and fishing are similar in the fact that you never stop learning and everyday is exciting!!
So to be able to to both as much as I do is a real gift! What is even better is having a loving wife that supports what I do and allows my much needed time with the boys on the bank and in the tattoo shop. Tattooing has been even cooler now that fishing has become such a big part of my life. It has opened up a whole new line of clients/new friends for me!
There really is nothing better than sitting down with a fellow angler and doing a cool tattoo and chatting about fishing stories and tactics the whole time.
Never give up! Keep trying!! Tight lines everyone…
